Armed robbers held up an Amanzimtoti restaurant manager and robbed him of cash last night.
Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said two suspects armed with firearms and a third suspect who was armed with a screwdriver, forced their way into the Arbour Road restaurant just after 10pm.
“The manager opened the back door of the restaurant to let a staff member leave for home, when he was accosted by the gang who must have been lying in wait. They forced their way onto the premises and took the manager to the office, where the day’s takings were being cashed up,” Mathios said. “The gang fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash. No injuries were reported.”
Amanzimtoti SAPS attended the scene of the crime. Police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
